Four coal-laden vehicles seized in Ri Bhoi

SHILLONG: Reports of trucks carrying coal in violation of NGT order continue to appear even while the state government is in denial mode about illegal coal mining taking place.
On Monday at 4 am, Police detected and seized one coal-laden Pick-up (ML-06-4220) in Umiam. Prior to the seizure, on Sunday around 9.15 am, a truck (AS-01AC-8349) was detained in Byrnihat while transporting coal in violation of NGT order. One more coal-laden truck (ML-04B-1673) was seized in Umiam and Saturday around 12:10 am, Police detected one truck (ML-10-7190) transporting coal at a place under the jurisdiction of Umiam Police Station.
