NONGPOH: Former State Congress chief and veteran politician, D D Lapang, will join the National People’s Party at a function to be held on December 10 at Umbuda playground in Nongpoh.
Sources informed that top functionaries of the NPP, including Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong and several Cabinet ministers will be in Nongpoh to welcome Lapang into the party fold.
Several senior Congress leaders from the district and Mahila wing members, who had quit the party following Lapang’s resignation from the Congress in September, will also join the NPP during the scheduled function.
