SHILLONG: The Garo community, NGOs and church leaders held a meeting to lend their support to Agnes Kharshiing’s friend, Amita Sangma on Friday.
Speaking to reporters, an activist from Garo Hills, Jenny Sangma said, “I am not satisfied with the police department as stern steps should have been taken to nab the culprits,” stressing on CBI probe into the attack of the activists.
When asked about monetary assistance to Amita, Jenny said the monetary assistance is up to the government as the community will not be able to help much.
The meeting was also held to introduce Amita to the Garo community in Shillong.
