CM inaugurates solid waste management plant in Tura

TURA: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma inaugurated the solid waste management plant at Rongkhon Songgital in Tura on Saturday.
The inauguration programme was also attended by Urban Affairs Minister Hamletson Dohling and other government officials along with the residents of the area.
Speaking on the occasion, Sangma congratulated the Urban Affairs Minister and the department for the successful implementation of the project in the district adding that the same Plant will be inaugurated very soon in other districts as well.
Emphasizing on the importance of garbage management system, he said that segregation of waste and home composting at the household level is important.
The Cm also urged all the citizens to ensure responsibility for maintaining cleanliness and make the town garbage free in the days to come.
