Ex-JSU leader to contest in Council polls

JOWAI: Former Jaintia Students’ Union (JSU) leader Rikut N Parien will contest in the forthcoming District Council Election 2019 from 13 Saphai Constituency in Jaintia Hills.
Speaking to media persons on Thursday, Parien said: “I have decided to contest the District Council Election and I request all voters of my constituency to support me so that I can serve in a better way”
Parien who has been the leader of the the JSU for more than 15 years said that he would protect the rights and interest of the people of the Hills area if he is elected.
His main agenda is for the development of his constituency and for the welfare of the KHADC..
