Two die in WJH accident

JOWAI: Two persons died in an accident at 7th Mile toll plaza in West Jaintia Hills on Thursday night.
The car they were travelling in collided with a mini bus. The car was driven by Jerly Shadap Passah (44), a resident of Mynkrem Shangpung. The passenger was identified as Tip Iakai (49), a resident of Mynkrem Shangpung. They were on their way to Jowai from Sohkynphor.
On reaching 7th mile (Toll Plaza), where the NHAI authority has made a diversion on the new lane of the road, the driver was driving in the wrong lane when it collided head-on with the bus driven by Rilang Phawa (61), a resident of Wapung Skur coming from Jowai.
Shadap and Iakai were declared dead at Ialong Civil Hospital.
