SHILLONG: Former West Shillong MLA Paul Lyngdoh is likely to contest the upcoming district council election from Jaiaw constituency.
Officials from UDP said Lyngdoh is in the panel of candidates from Jaiaw constituency and could be given the ticket for the election.
Party leaders also said formal announcement in this regard will be made shortly.
Earlier, the names of both Lyngdoh and Jemino Mawthoh were suggested for the Lok Sabha election but the party decided to field Mawthoh as the common candidate.
