JOWAI: The West Jaintia Hills District Executive Force has requested the people of the District to drive carefully in order to avoid accidents particularly during festive season as several cases of drunk driving are being reported.
The Superintendent of Police, Lakador Syiem in a meeting with media persons, informed that since the beginning of December, many fatal accidents have been reported due to reckless driving.
“During Christmas three minors lost their lives at Mynsngat village due to negligence of a pickup vehicle driver,” the SP said adding altogether nine traffic accidents took place only this month.
Furthermore, minor accidents occurred almost daily.
