UDP Umroi gains strength with new entrants

SHILLONG: The United Democratic Party Umroi circle was strengthened after several leaders and supporters from different parties joined UDP on Friday.
In a statement issued here, UDP general secretary Jemino Mawthoh said leaders and supporters from NPP, PDF, KHNAM and the Congress were inducted into the UDP fold to strengthen the party for the forthcoming district council and Lok Sabha elections.
The meeting was attended by Bindo M Lanong, senior working president of the UDP, Mawthoh, Donbok Khymdeit, president of UDP Ri Bhoi, Reynold Kharkamni, general secretary of UDP Ri Bhoi district and other UDP leaders of Umroi constituency.
Leaders from different parties and their supporters formally joined the UDP, which included the working president of NPP Ri Bhoi FD Ramsiej, working president of PDF Umroi Circle Sunlight Shadap, Cristabell Wanniang from KHNAM, Pynhun Mawroh from the Congress, H Mawlong, president of NPP Bhoirymbong and Asher Makri, president of NPP Umroi area.
Other UDP leaders who had left the party like Siral Marbaniang, B Shadap and others also returned to the party fold. All the above members were officially inducted in presence of UDP state and district leaders.
