SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee has invited applications from aspiring candidates from South Garo Hills for the Lok Sabha election.
In a letter to the district committee, the state leadership has said it should inform about applications from aspiring candidates for Shillong and Tura constituencies.
The Congress may prefer sitting MP Vincent Pala as its candidate for Shillong seat but for Tura, it is yet to be known. But in the letter, the party mentioned “applications for 1-Shillong and 2-Tura parliamentary constituencies”. One should file the application in a plain paper along with his or her bio-data mentioning past experience, criminal cases if any, among other things, and send it to the MPCC office in Shillong on or before January 20.
