SHILLONG: The Khun Hynniewtrep National Awakening Movement (KHNAM) has demanded that fresh advertisement should be floated by the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) for the post of consultant.
The KHNAM maintained that preference should be given to locals from the state.
Speaking to reporters after meeting the additional director of SDMA, state youth wing president of KHNAM Thomas Passah said he had filed an RTI that revealed that the SDMA office received only one application from Surajit Bordoloi for the post of consultant. He added that the SDMA has notified for the post of consultant on September 17, 2013, but the RTI reply stated that Bordoloi submitted his application with the SDMA office on September 30, 2012, which is one year before the notification of the advertisement. Stating that such a decision will create a bad precedence, the KHNAM demanded that the service of Bordoloi should be terminated.
