TURA: A total of 31 persons have been arrested under section 53(1) of the ME Act in raids conducted by the Excise Department in the entire district of West Garo Hills during the months of November and December last year.
According to a release, a total of 36 cases were detected including 5 unclaimed cases with seizure amounting to approximately 55.02 litres of IMFL, 52.30 litres of Beer and 45.5 litres of ID liquor. In this regard, 15 cases were disposed off and a fine amounting to Rs 18, 500/- was realized.
