Meghalaya receives award for best Electoral Practices 2018

SHILLONG: Meghalaya on Friday received the National Award for best state for Electoral Practices 2018

Chief Electoral Officer, FR was conferred with the award by the President ,Ramnath Kovind at the National Voters Day function in New Delhi

Meghalaya has been awarded National Award for Best State for Electoral Practises 2018 for overall performance in Election Management in areas covering EP ratio,18 19 registration, partnership building, conduct of elections, voters turnout and most notably innovative voter awareness/ voter education and electoral participation

Apart from Meghalaya being selected for award in the overall achievement in the States category, Karnataka and Chattisgarh have also been selected for the award
