Man gets 14 yrs in jail in POCSO case

SHILLONG: A POCSO special court on Thursday sentenced a man to 14 years of rigorous imprisonment and slapped a fine of Rs 5,000 in a 2013 case.
Henry Diengdoh raped a minor on July 2, 2013, several times and threatened her with dire consequences if she tried to report it.
Special POCSO judge Noor Ain Khan, while pronouncing the sentence, said Diengdoh will be liable to serve an additional sentence of three months’ imprisonment if he fails to pay the fine.
The case was registered at Rynjah police station. The special judge also recommended a compensation of Rs 2 lakh to be paid to the victim by the state government.
