NPP out with 4th list; Gigur files papers

SHILLONG/NONGSTOIN: The National People’s Party (NPP) on Monday released its fourth list for the election to the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council on February 27.
The list has only one name, that of Rangkynsaid Makdoh from Nongpoh.
Meanwhile, NPP candidate from Mawshynrut in West Khasi Hills Gigur Myrthong filed nomination papers on Monday before returning officer PD Sangma.
He was accompanied by NPP party leaders, his wife and children. Myrthong is the current MLA of Mawshynrut and he is hopeful of winning the council election.Three others who filed nominations on Monday were Congress candidates Gabriel Wahlang from Nongstoin, Banjop Pyngrope from Rambrai-Jyrngam and Srally Rashir from Mawshynrut.
So far, the NPP has released 30 names for both KHADC and JHADC.
