Lambor to contest council election

SHILLONG: The chairman of the State Planning Board and independent MLA, Lambor Malngiang has decided to join the fray for the council elections and he will contest from Nongkrem constituency which he currently represents as an MLA.
Lambor Malngiang on Tuesday said that the people from his constituency have asked him to contest the council elections
And even added that he would like to take on the Village Administration Bill and other important bills which are pending.
“ I would like to debate on these issues for safeguarding the interest of our people,” he said.
The Nongkrem legislator added that he is confident of winning the council polls since the people of the constituency elected him as their MLA last year.
Malngiang who is the sitting MLA from Nongkrem will file his nominations on Wednesday.
