Andhra tourist drowns at Sohra

SHILLONG: A young tourist from Andhra Pradesh was drowned at Sohra on Thursday morning.
Police said the incident occurred when a 20-year-old tourist from Andhra Pradesh, Ravi Chandra, was swimming in Rainbow Falls near the Living Root Bridge.
His body was recovered around 3 pm.
Police said that the body will be handed over to the family after post-mortem and other formalities.
This is not the first time when a tourist has drowned in a river in Sohra.
Last year, two youths, including one from West Bengal, were drowned in the Janailar stream in Sohra after attending NH7 Weekender.
