Attending Losar festival Khandu pledges a walk through market at Tawang

GUWAHATI: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Thursday  attended Losar celebration  at the monastery town of Tawang accompanied by MLAs Tsering Tashi, Jambey Tashi and Phurpa Tsering.

Speaking at the celebration, Chief Minister extended his Losar greetings to people of Tawang that was also attended by the trading community that mostly comprised the non Arunachal Pradesh Scheduled Tribe (APST) people.

Chief Minister said Tawang being a tourism hotspot area, the government has taken several development initiative to develop it keeping the need. He said a walk through market is being developed in the town, which will be more beautiful than the popular MG Marg of Gangtok.

He also said for development of market road, Rs 25 crore has been sanctioned for construction of CC road. He also said a new airport for Tawang is also on the card as Airport Authority of India has identified a land for the airstrip. He assured to push for immediate construction of the airport, which can be jointly used for civilian and defence purposes.
