Meghalaya Assembly Budget Session from March 8

SHILLONG: The Budget Session of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly will be held from March 8 to 22 next.

This was decided at the meeting of  Business Advisory Committee of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly held here on Tuesday

Commissioner and Secretary, Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, Andrew Simons said that  there wiould be 10 working days including  eight  days of Government business and two  days of private members business.

Meghalaya Governor will  address the House on March 8 and the passing of the budget will be taken up on March 22

As per Simons, presentation of the Budget estimates will be on March 13

Meanwhile, the second meeting  of the High Power Committee set up for the construction of the new Assembly building was also held here on Tuesday.

Deputy Chief Minister, Prestone Tynsong said that  meeting discussed about the finalisation of the tendering process done by the PWD Building and to whom  the work for the new Assembly building  should be allotted.

He said that they had instructed the officers to go ahead with the financial bid and they will see who is the lowest bidder
