SHILLONG: The Shillong Cricket First Division League organised by the Shillong Cricket Association began with two matches played on Tuesday. In the first match, Nongthymmai defeated Khalsa Warriors by 38 runs while Rang Kynsai CC got the better of Nongkseh United by 17 runs. Electing to bat first after winning the toss, Nongthymmai scored 184/6 in 35 overs with Omar Jefry scoring 37 runs and Kunal Lama chipping in with 36 runs. Rahul Singh and Sawan Singh claimed two wickets each for Khalsa Warriors. In reply Khalsa Warriors managed to score 146 losing all wickets in 34.2 overs. Ravi Singh scored 39 runs while Amit Debbarma scored 30. Reuben Najiar scalped 3 wickets while Kunal Lama claimed two. In the second match, Rang Kynsai won the toss and scored 163/10 in 30.4 overs after chosing to bat first. Raja Khongwir scored 54 runs while Sanjay Lyngdoh scored 46 runs. Akash Mahato and Bippin Ray took 3 wickets for Nongkseh United. In reply, Nongkseh were bowled out for 146 in 33.5 overs. Rohit Kr Yadav top scored with 53 runs while Rakesh Kr Ray and Romel Jyrwa claimed 3 wickets each for Rang Kynsai who won the match by 17 runs.
