MLP beat Aurobindo in Shillong First Division League

SHILLONG: MLP Club defeated Aurobindo CC by 8 wickets in the Shillong First Division League match on Thursday organised by Shillong Cricket Association. Electing to bat first after winning the toss, Aurobindo failed to get going and were eventually bowled out for a meagre score of 72 in 21.5 overs. Akash Dutta (21 runs off 53 balls) and Vivek Bhattacharya (13 runs off 14 balls) were the only notable contributors for Aurobindo. Morningstar Khongwir claimed 3 wickets while Sandeep Roy bagged 2 wickets for MLP Club. Chasing a small total, MLP batsmen Wallamjohn (36 runs off 47 balls) and Kumar Sewa (17 runs off 23 balls) made easy work of the Aurobindo bowlers and reached the target in 12 overs. Viswaroop and Vishal Kr Balmiki were the only successful bowlers for Aurobindo scalping one each.
