B’desh eyes balanced development

Dhaka: Bangladesh Jatiya Sangshad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, MP, said Bangladesh would become a happy, prosperous and beautiful Sonar Bangla with balanced development across the country.
The present government is reaching benefits of development to the grassroots people, she said on Friday at a function after inaugurating construction of a bridge spending Taka 29.50 crore at Jayontipur Ghat point on the river Kartoa Pirganj upazila in northern Bangladesh as the chief guest.
The Department of Local Government Engineering is implementing construction work of the bridge to ease road connectivity for the people of Tukuria union of Pirganj upazila with Nababganj upazila of Dinajpur on other side of the river. Construction work of the bridge is expected to get completed by the year 2020 and to be made open to the public then after.
The Speaker said, After construction of the bridge, communication system and standard of living of people living on both sides of the river would be improved enhancing economic activities and creating new workplaces for the people of the area.
Chaired by President of Tukuria Union Awami League Md Abdus Samad, Pirganj municipal Mayor Tazimul Islam Shamim, Pirganj Upazila Engineer Mujibur Rahman and Tukuria Union Parishad Chairman Ataur Rahman also spoke. (UNI)
