Heavy trucks prohibited from plying over weak bridges in Garo Hills

TURA: In view of Bridge No 10 by 2 at Rimrangpara on the Kherapara-Deku Bazar road being damaged, West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, Ram Singh has prohibited plying of heavy loaded trucks over the subway through the said road.

 The order will come into force with immediate effect and will remain in force until further orders, the urgent order issued by the deputy commissioner added.

 Meanwhile, the PWD (Roads), Williamnagar Division has also prohibited the plying of heavy vehicles on the bridge located four kilometers away on the Rongrenggre-Simgsanggre-Nengkhra (RSN) Road in view of its weak state.

 The notification added that only light vehicles with loading capacity of 9 tonnes will be allowed to ply on the bridge. The order will come into force with immediate effect.
