SHILLONG: The Union Health Ministry on Monday cleared the proposal of the Meghalaya government for creation of a state-of-the-art diagnostic centre in Shillong.
Informing this, Health Minister AL Hek said that the Union government has also sanctioned Rs 40 crore for the project and the centre will be constructed on the premises of Pasteur Institute in Shillong.
Various investigations like MRI, blood tests, X-rays will be done free of cost at the centre.
The state government will outsource recruitment process for the centre as the department does not have enough manpower. However, the department will require more funds for equipment and other necessities.
