SHILLONG: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Tuesday handed over buses to five schools under the Chief Minister Rural Development funds.
Speaking to media persons after handing over the buses, the Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said that that the government would take up different activities under the programme.
Stating that the education sector is a priority for the government, the Chief Minister further added that the government was also coming up with Eklavya model residential schools in the state.
He informed that that out of the 50 residential schools selected across the country,11 would be in Meghalaya.
He further added that that the government would continue to support education sector in the state
Earlier, the chief minister handed over the keys of the buses to the respective schools hailing from different parts of the state.
