CM’s chopper fails to land at Lakroh

SHILLONG: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma along with Home Minister James Sangma could not land at Lakroh in West Jaintia Hills on Tuesday morning where the former was scheduled to inaugurate the Lakroh Mini Hydel Project.
The chief minister took off in the chopper from Tura.
However, due to bad weather the chopper could not land at Lakroh and flew to Shillong.
Conrad later said that there was no emergency like situation though he admitted that the weather was bad. He also said both the chopper and the pilots were good.
Later, the hydel project was inaugurated by Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui,
The project is located on the Lakroh river near Muktapur village in Amlarem Sub-Division.
The project will augment power supply to the 14 nearby villages where there is frequent disruption due to long transmission lines.
