SHILLONG: Former CEM of Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC), PN Syiem has been elected uncontested as the Chairman of KHADC on Thursday.
Presiding over the session to elect the Chairman, Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills, Matsiewdor War Nongbri said three nomination papers were found in favour of Syiem.
His name was proposed by Lambor Malniang, Gigur Myrthong, Alwin Khyriem Sawkmie, seconded by Latiplang Kharkongor, Rangkynsai Kharbuki and Sherborlang Mawlong.
Since Syiem is the only candidate for the post of Chairman, he was declared the Chairman of KHADC.
