P N Syiem elected chairman of KHADC unopposed

SHILLONG: Former CEM of Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC), PN Syiem has been elected uncontested as the Chairman of KHADC on Thursday.
Presiding over the session to elect the Chairman, Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills, Matsiewdor War Nongbri said three nomination papers were found in favour of Syiem.
His name was proposed by Lambor Malniang, Gigur Myrthong, Alwin Khyriem Sawkmie, seconded by Latiplang Kharkongor, Rangkynsai Kharbuki and Sherborlang Mawlong.
Since Syiem is the only candidate for the post of Chairman, he was declared the Chairman of KHADC.
Others who congratulated him were UDP MDCs Teiñwell Dkhar, Titoswell Chyne, Paul Lyngdoh is, Teibor Pathaw, Jambor War, Ryngkatlang Lyndem ; Congress MDCs Lamphrang Blah, Grace Mary Kharpuri, Ronny V Lyngdoh, Carness Sohshang, Charles Marngar, Gabriel Wahlang, Fantin Joseph Lakadong, Batskhem Ranee, Bajop Pyngrope ; Independent MDC Lambor Malniang ; Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP), MDC Martle Mukhim ; NPP MDCs Pyniaid Syiem, Gigur Myrthong, Vintor Ranee, Rangkynsai Kharbuki, Mitchell Wankhar.
