Govt to pursue Meghalaya House in B’lore

SHILLONG: General Administration Department (GAD) Minister Comingone Ymbon told the Assembly on Thursday that the government will pursue the matter of setting up a Meghalaya House in Bangalore.
Replying to a cut motion, he said the water problem in Meghalaya House at Kasba in Kolkata will be looked into immediately and vacant posts will be filled as soon as possible. As for the wages of staff at Guwahati Airport, he said as per the minimum wages rules of Assam, Rs 257 is to be paid per day to unskilled staff. Earlier, Congress’s PT Sawkmie and H M Shangpliang, raised the issue of lack of amenities in Meghalaya Houses and asked the government to improve their condition. Ymbon also informed that there is only one state guest house in Shillong.
