Raid Nonglyngdoh gears up for Shad Sajer on March 22

NONGPOH: With an aim to preserve and promote its ethnic culture, Raid Nonglyngdoh is gearing up to organise a one-day observation programme of the “Shad Sajer” which is one of the famous traditional dances of Raid Nonglyngdoh. The programme will be held on March 22 in its sacred grove at Mawjong.

The publicity secretary of Raid Nonglyngdoh, Liandar Nongshli, said that Raid Nonglyngdoh was gearing up for the grand celebration of the annual celebration of the Shad Sajer which is famously known as the sacred and traditional dance of Raid Nonglyngdoh.

He also said that, Raid Nonglyngdoh as one of the traditional bodies of the district had expressed their gratitude toward the initiative taken by the State Government under the leadership of the Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma and also the district administration led by the Deputy Commissioner R.M Kurbah for announcing a District Holiday for the celebration of the annual event, Shad Sajer.

However, the Raid Nonglyngdoh had called upon the local populace to attend the annual celebration of the Shad Sajer for making the annual event a grand and successful one.
