Arson
On March 17 around 7 pm, unknown miscreants set ablaze one motorcycle (ML-04A-6147) belonging to Dineshtar Mawlein (22) which was parked at the Presbyterian Mission School in Langpih. The motorcycle was completely gutted.

Body recovered
The headman of Mawkhan Pambeh village in West Khasi Hills informed police that the body of Wesman Sohshang (17) was found hanging in a jungle at Japung Brukynsuid. The body was later handed over to relatives of the deceased.

Theft
On Wednesday, police arrested two persons identified as Vicky Thapa (27) and Prashant Thapa (24) from Mawlonghat and recovered one stolen mobile phone from their possession.
On Tuesday, Roshan Kaushal (26) of Jhalupara was caught while attempting to steal a mobile phone belonging to Chambor War. Police arrested the accused.

Threat
Members of International Garo Coal Exportation lodged a complaint stating that on March 13 around 10 am, two armed persons identified as Dharamveer Singh and Balnand Soni from Gasuapara in South Garo Hills, challenged and abused them. The duo also threatened them along with the headman of the village with dire consequences. It has also been alleged that the accused are in violation of NGT orders by extracting coal from Siju and Nangalbibra area in South Garo Hills.
