SHILLONG: The NSS unit of Saint Mary’s College organised the NSS Leadership and Reach out Programme on March 20 at Madan Hindi Pathshala Secondary School in Madanrting.
The programme aimed at developing leadership qualities among the NSS volunteers besides helping the needy students of the school.
Around 100 volunteers and two NSS programme organisers Kharumnuid and D. Warjri from Saint Mary’s College attended the programme.
Speaking in the technical session, Blah from One Stop Centre- Iohlynti, Ganesh Das Hospital highlighted the issues of leadership qualities, confidence building, right approach to healthy growing-up.
Skill-based development programme was coordinated by E. Pakyntein from sociology department of St. Mary’s College with varied crafts and creative works useful for school children throughout the year using various materials and papers.
NSS volunteers also conducted a variety of creative activities for the students of each class and exchanged ideas on various issues.
