Joint control room set up

SHILLONG: A joint control room (JCR) for effective communication and coordination between the central and state forces was inaugurated on Friday by IGP, CRPF, Prakash D, at MPRO Golf Links here. All the senior officers of CRPF, BSF, SSB, state nodal officers and DIGP, AR Mawthoh, Meghalaya Police, were present.
The JCR will work round-the-clock and will monitor all election-related activities in the state.
A briefing was given to all the officers by IGP, CRPF. He insisted on conduct of free, fair and credible Lok Sabha polls in the state. Area domination exercises, visibility and mobility of the forces were discussed.
The IGP asked the officers to prepare communication, transportation and accommodation plans for the CAPF during the Lok Sabha polls in the state. Communication shadow regions were asked to be identified so that alternate means of communication may be utilised.
The officers were asked to increase patrolling in the inter-state border with Assam and international border with Bangladesh.
