Agricultural products price
The Executive Member in charge of Market, Jambor War, said there is no mechanism to control price for agricultural products in Iewduh and other markets.
He was replying to a query raised by Congress MDC Fantin Joseph Lakadong during the question hour of the KHADC budget session on Tuesday.
Congress MDC Ronnie Lyngdoh raised the issue of deduction by middlemen of 5 kg and 10 kg attributing it to the weight of the basket and the sack.
War said the matter will be looked into.
Block II issue
KHADC CEM Teiñwell Dkhar will search for documents of the areas in Block II to ascertain the boundaries of the villages.
He was replying to a motion moved by Congress MDC Charles Marngar on the status of Block II and problems faced by the local inhabitants.
Marngar expressed concern on the harassment of local villagers allegedly by Assam police on certain occasions.
Khasi in Eighth Schedule
Congress MDC Carnes Sohshang said the present Executive Committee should follow up on the matter regarding the inclusion of the Khasi language in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution.
Replying to a resolution moved by Sohshang, the CEM KHADC Teiñwell Dkhar assured to take a delegation to meet the concerned authorities.
