Cash, ganja seized in Hailakandi by static surveillance team

GUWAHATI: Hailakandi Police and Static Surveillance Team monitoring the enforcement of Model Code of Conduct (MCC) for Parliamentary elections seized Rs 79,000 in cash and 150 gram of ganja  in Hailakandi in Assam on Tuesday.

According to Superintendent of Police (SP), Mohneesh Mishra, seizure were made  during the check-up at Katlicherra Grant Banglartol from an auto bearing registration No.AS10-5917 coming from Katlicherra side towards Monipur.

“During checking, ganja wrapped in a newspaper and cash were found in the possession of Sujit Rabi Das of Monipur Bazar and he was brought to the police station.

A case no.114/19 U/S 20(ii)(A) NDPS Act,1985 has been registered at Katlicherra Police Station.
The SP said the police administration would take appropriate action if genuine complaints were made and appealed to the voters to cooperate by providing proper information.
