NIT declares holiday

SHILLONG: Students of National Institute of Technology (NIT), Shillong have been given a holiday until further notice after the recent fiasco in the institute following a scuffle.
Some students on Tuesday said that some have left the institute and a holiday has been declared in the institute till further notice.
Attempts were made to contact the institute for confirmation about the holidays but none of the officials could be reached.
Earlier several students of NIT were injured on Saturday and Sunday in two incidents of scuffle.
Police said the first incident started from the campus where a cultural programme was being held.
