SHILLONG: As medical science makes progress, homoeopathy, an alternate method of treatment, takes a hit, said former director of National Institute of Homoeopathy Samir Kumar Bhattacharyya on Wednesday. Bhattacharyya was speaking on the occasion of World Homeopathy Day on the theme ‘Linking Education and Clinical Practice in Homoeopathy’ at North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda and Homeopathy (NEIAH).
He said the greatest challenge for this method of treatment is that the “pathway of homoeopathy” is not yet established and the system of medicine has not gained acceptance in the scientific world.
Unless the pathway is established, homoeopathy practitioners will be considered as quacks, Bhattacharyya said and asked students to understand the methods of treating.
The expert told the young members of the audience that instead of waiting for a government job, they can study and learn about homoeopathy medicines.
Eight homoeopathic physicians from the northeastern region were felicitated for their contribution to the field of homoeopathy.
