SWKH records 68.34 pc voter turnout

Mawkyrwat: South West Khasi Hills have recorded 68.34 per cent voter turnout for the Lok sabha election in the state on Thursday, however the percentage may increase as reports from the interior part of the district have not been received.
South West Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner, Isawanda Laloo informed that the turnout in Mawkyrwat was recorded at 63.1% while Ranikor had a better turnout with 73.75% of voters casting their votes. “The percentage may increase,” Laloo said.
The DC also informed that the election in both Mawkyrwat and Ranikor went on smoothly as no untoward incidents was reported during the election.
She also informed that though there reports of some defect in the EVMs and VVPATs mid polls but were rectified and replaced.
