SHILLONG: The Sordar Shnong of Kut village in Mawryngkeng, Chesterwell Sohtun refuted the allegations that he and two others were involved in burning down a house belonging to Elfrida Mylliem and Aibullin Mylliem.
Addressing reporters here on Friday, Sohtun said, “They alleged that we threatened them at around 6 pm and that her house was burnt down at 10 pm. We the locals don’t have any knowledge about it. Also no one stays in the house that was burnt down.”
He said that the mother-daughter duo usually created problems in the village by filing false FIRs and complaints to the Meghalaya Commission for Women against neighbors and residents of the village.
Sohtun went on to claim that Mylliem would encroach upon the agricultural land of other farmers. He said that the village of Kut does not issue any land document as the land belongs to the Raid.
