2nd accused in trader murder held in GH

TURA: West Garo Hills police have arrested another member of the gang that killed an Assam-based trader and his driver in Dalu last week.
Tura police on Friday arrested one of the prime murder accused, Mose D Sangma alias Tangbath, from Dobasipara area of Tura town. The accused hails from Bangsingra area of Dalu and was part of a gang of four to five criminals who committed the crime on April 7.
On the same day, police from Kherapara found the highly decomposed  body of the missing Mahindra pick up driver Nur Aziz from a jungle area of Ontapara village. The trader’s body was earlier recovered from a nearby area.
The Assam trader, Rohidul Islam, and driver Nur Aziz were lured by the gang to Sensenggre village of Dalu and from there taken towards Ontapara village where they were killed in cold blood and their bodies dumped in a jungle.
An amount of Rs 1.20 lakh belonging to Islam and meant to pay for the arecanut consignment was also stolen by the gang.
West Garo Hills police were quick to arrest one of the ring leaders, Willip D Sangma of Ontapara village on Monday itself.
However, Mose Sangma and the gang leader Rohitson R Marak continued to evade arrest until the former was picked up from Dobasipara. Police raided a hideout of Rohitson at Mendipather region of North Garo Hills on Friday night but he could not be found.
“We are continuing our search for Rohitson.. We have recovered approximately Rs 20,000 from the arrested persons which belonged to the betel nut trader,” informed WGH SP MGR Kumar.
