SHILLONG: The Sordar of Puriang village, East Khasi Hills District, Bantei Mukhim has denied the allegations that he had burnt down a house of a lady, Elfrida Mylliem.

Addressing a press conference on Thursday, he said he was upset over the allegations leveled by Mylliem who does not belong to Puriang village. It may be mentioned that Mukhim along with the Sordar of Kut, Chesterwell Sohtun we’re accused of burning the house of Mylliem.

Stating that Kut and Puriang have no connection, he said, “We don’t even know her. I’m from Puriang and not from Kut. She is also not from Puriang as she claims to be.”

“There is no truth that we demanded money, we have no connection. It is not good to tarnish the reputation of the village,” he added

Further, Mukhim said the allegation of burning down her house does not arise as he does not know where Mylliem stays.
