Army pre-recruitment exercise held

SHILLONG: The Umroi Block Youth Congress Assembly (UBYCA) in collaboration with officers and personnel from the 14 Assam Regiment (Umroi Cantonment) carried out a pre-recruitment exercise at Madan Kurkalang in Bhoirymbong, Ri Bhoi on Saturday.
The objective of the pre-recruitment exercise was to familiarize the youths who had applied for jobs in the Indian Army with the necessary requisites required for army recruitment.
Participants from across Ri Bhoi and other places including Shillong took part in the exercise. Youths who had applied for the army recruitment rally scheduled to be held at the Assam Regimental Centre, Happy Valley on May 2 were also present.
In a statement issued here, UBYCA president, Dester Hinge thanked Umroi MLA George B Lyngdoh who had taken the initiative of approaching the Army at Umroi Cantonment to help organise the pre-recruitment exercise.
He also thanked Finewell Nongneng and Neeraj Kumar from the 14 Assam Regiment at Umroi Cantonment and his team for their willingness to provide necessary assistance. The UBYCA also provided a few words of encouragement to the youths who would be taking part in the army recruitment drive.
