Girl student goes ‘missing’ after assault

TURA: A student of the North Eastern Hill University, Tura campus has gone missing after being attacked by a youth, who waylaid her while she was on her way home on Saturday evening.
According to the police complaint filed by the university authorities, Chinu R Sangma was coming back with another student from classes to the Working Womens’ Hostel in Mission Compound when she was accosted by a youth who attacked her around 5:30pm.
Following the attack, the girl fled the scene and did not return which led to the authorities filing a missing person’s report.
