AGARTALA: Police launched investigation into the death of a 30-year-old housewife who was allegedly burnt alive by her in-laws in Brajendranagar village of Madhupur area in Sepahijala district in the late hours of Tuesday.
On Wednesday morning police recovered charred body of Anumati Sarkar under a tree near her house. An empty drum of kerosene oil, match box and half-burnt pieces of cloth were also recovered from the spot.
The villagers assembled, on Thursday, in front of the local police station seeking action against the culprits. (UNI)
