SHILLONG: Home Minister James Sangma has assured that the case of Michael Warjri whose house was ransacked by miscreants at New Balakhawa in Ri Bhoi district on the Assam-Meghalaya border , will be followed up.
This assurance was given to HYC members after they met him.
Warjri is the secretary of Hima Nongspung.
The HYC also met the DGP and urged him to take up the matter with his Assam counterpart.
The HYC wanted the case from Assam to be forwarded to Nongpoh Police Station.
The pressure group pointed out that though the case was registered in Assam, since New Balakhawa falls under Meghalaya, the case should be registered in Meghalaya.
Earlier, a case was registered in Assam against Warjri for his alleged involvement in assaulting and injuring one Rabha.
