Vandals run amok at Kench’s Trace

SHILLONG: An FIR was lodged on Saturday at Kench’s Trace Police Station stating that unknown miscreants had shattered the rear windshield of a Renault Kwid parked near Bishnupur NIT boys hostel .
This is one of several incidents which have occurred in this particular area.
Meanwhile, police representative Rajat Ghosh advised residents to install cctv cameras and to submit their credentials to the nearest police station which would in turn be handed over to the headmen for verification.
Earlier, numerous criminal activities had taken place in the same area including a burglary in which miscreants had broken into a house and had stolen a considerable amount of money.
Prior to that incident, a Hyundai Eon parked at the same spot was vandalised by unidentified miscreants who took out the number plate and had cut all the electrical wiring.
Other such incidents include the theft of tires from a Maruti Zen.
