Barak Valley HS toppers honoured by ERDF

GUWAHATI: The ERD Foundation Guwahati on Wednesday felicitated four Higher Secondary Examination Rank holders from the Barak Valley along with other students who have shown outstanding results in the 2019 class X and XII exams.

Mahbubul Hoque, Chairman of ERDF lauded the achievers and presented them mementos, certificates and cash awards in the presence of distinguished dignitaries at a glorious programme organized by ERDF which was held at Khairun Nessa Begum Women’s College , Badarpur, according to an ERDF communique.

Addressing the gathering, Mahbubul Hoque delivered an encouraging and motivating speech stating that if one can visualize his or her goal and work dedicatedly to achieve that, there is nothing in this world that can stop. He said that education is the only tool for progress and prosperity of the region and youth of the country must think and act for the benefit of the society while building their career.

The students of Khairun Nessa Begum Women’s College (both Science and Arts stream), Central Public School Badarpur and Central Public School Patharkandi who have come out with brilliant results in the recently declared class X and XII exams were also felicitated with cash award and certificates by ERDF Chairman in the felicitation programme.

Receiving his award, Ashim Sarkar, the Commerce Topper of class XII exam of Assam Higher Secondary Education Council 2019 from Vivekananda Junior College, Cachar said, “Apart from hard work, one has to know how to study in a smart way to achieve success.” On the other hand, Daisy Pathak, the 2nd Rank holder in HS Science 2019 results from Govt. Boys’ HS School, Cachar stated that there is no alternative to hard work for success. Surayya Khanam, a Khairun Nessa Begum Women’s College student who is the Science topper from greater Badarpur, Karimganj District by securing 91% marks credited her success to ERDF Chairman M Hoque for guiding her since her school days. The other felicitated rank holder students include Harsh Golcha (7th Position in HS Commerce, Karimganj Junior College of Science and Commerce) and Brinda Roy (9th Position, HS Commerce, Vivekananda Junior College, Cachar).
