Employees want SMB office shifted

SHILLONG: The Shillong Municipal Employees Association (SMEA) has suggested that the main office of Shillong Municipal Board (SMB) may be shifted to its original location at Jail Road, Shillong.
The proposal was made during a meeting of the executive committee of the SMEA, held on May 24 with the agenda of shifting the existing SMB office.
In a statement issued here, the executive committee said it unanimously resolved to request the government to shift the present SMB office to its original place at Jail road.
The association said till date, no further action was taken despite the completion of 95 per cent work and electrification of the office at Jail road.
