Fire at MTC annex leaves 11 injured

SHILLONG: A fire broke out at 3:00 am on Sunday in the first floor due to an electrical short circuit in the annex MTC building here left 11 injured.

The fire sparked due to a short circuit had emitted smoked to the 2nd and 3rd floors housing Swastik Hotel causing panic among the hotel guests some of whom had jumped off the 1st & 2nd floors. All together eleven injured persons including women were shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital.

As a good will gesture from the district police, all necessary arrangement was provided to the injured including financial assistance as a token to meet their medical expenses . A senior police officer from visited all the injured in civil hospital and oversaw that all medical assistance and their journey from Shillong to Borjhar was made .

The reporter while talking to the injured over phone found that them appreciating the help rendered by the Police.
