NONGPOH: A one-day public outreach programme-cum-free health camp on AYUSH medicine and treatment was held at Umsning Town Dorbar Hall on Friday.
The programme was organised by the office of the District Medical & Health Officer, Ri Bhoi District and was sponsored by the National AYUSH Mission.
Umsning MLA Jason Sawkmie Mawlong attended the programme as chief guest in the presence of Dr H.Lanong, District Nodal Officer, AYUSH Ri Bhoi District and Rocky A Marwein, headman of Umsning Proper B. The programme was also participated by doctors, headmen of nearby villages, village elders, ASHAs and the locals.
Speaking at the programme, Dr Lanong highlighted that the National AYUSH Mission is launched by the Central Government aimed at implementing the AYUSH way of life by adopting one village, to be known as AYUSH village for herbal medicinal plants, to provide easy access to AYUSH services through increased number of health care facilities and availability of medicine and trained people.
