Illegal timber recovered
On Tuesday around 8:30am, police received an anonymous tip informing them about illegal transportation of timber at Dame A’pal Konchikol Area in North Garo Hills. Acting on the information, police set up a vehicle checkpoint at Konchikol and detected one Mahindra pick-up (ML-07-4515) coming from Rongrong side. On reaching the checkpoint, the driver and occupants abandoned the vehicle and fled. Around 37 sawn timbers were recovered from the vehicle.
